2009 Golf Outing
Coach Notes:
Week of June 29 and other things:
Hello Everyone - We are getting very close to the start of our summer pratice and I am excited! Here
is this week's schedule followed by a list of NEEDS for the summer practices. Our 2009 football golf outing is on Friday,
July 17th. Here is this week's schedule:
Monday, June 29th - Freshman Lifting 6:45a - 8:30a, varsity
lifting 8a - 10a, helmet fitting from 10 a - 11a, varsity lifting 6p - 8p.
Tuesday, June 30th - off.
Wednesday, July 1st - Freshman Lifting 6:45a - 8:30 a, Varsity lifting 8a -10a, 6p-8p.
Thursday, July
2nd - off.
Friday, July 3rd - freshman lifting 6:45a - 8:30a, varsity lifting 8a - 10a, evening off.
Saturday, July 4th - enjoy Independence Day!
Sunday, July 5th - Picnic with the Pops - we need more volunteers

LIST OF THINGS WE NEED THIS SUMMER
1) I am going to continue the tradition
of putting up tents and putting out coolers. I need one big tarp, three tents, and 6 coolers, please (I will let freshman
fb use them too).
2) The athletes may buy whatever brand of cleats they want as long as they are red, white
or black (major color). The boys may need to buy their own girdle, if they want one.
3) I would like
to have 1 -2 parent volunteers to help during summer practice times. If you are available between 7a - 1p during the
summer and would like to help, I can put you to work. Please e-mail me if interested.

New Freshman Head Coach Named
The St. Charles Football Family is proud to announce that
Jay Ryan (SC class of 1976) has been named the new head freshman football coach for 2009. Coach Ryan coached at St.
Charles for 14 years as a varsity assistant in the 70s and 80s, and for 12 years at St. Michael in the 90s and 2000s. Most
importantly, Coach Ryan is father of current varsity assistant and U.S. History teacher Jason ('04), and two of our current
student athletes: Michael ('10) and Jimmy ('12). His father-in-law is Jim Ort, the freshman guidance counselor
at St. Charles.
Good Luck to Coach Ryan as he returns to the coaching ranks at St. Charles!

Congratulations Coach Pharion!

St. Charles Preparatory School is pleased to announce that Jeff Pharion has been named as the school's
Varsity Football Coach. Jeff has been teaching at St. Charles for the past 9 years and has been a coach in the
football program during that time, as well as being the Head Track Coach.
Jeff and his wife Angela live
in the Clintonville area.
Coach Pharion would like to meet with all football candidates and their parents to
discuss his coaching philosophies and plans on Tuesday, January 6, at 7:00. This meeting will be held in the Cavello
Center.

The St. Charles Preparatory School mourns the loss of one of our beloved teachers, Msgr. Thomas M. Bennett.
Fr. Bennett was a great supporter of SC football.
